The other day, there was an election of the Fukushima Prefectural Assembly, and ten candidates ran for eight seats in the Fukushima city electoral district. I had talked to one of them several years ago and been going to vote for him.

However, he and his campaign car didn't come to the central area of the city. I thought he put less importance on urban areas because his support base was in rural areas. I looked for another candidate to vote for instead of him and found one who looked good and seemed reliable.

Nevertheless, I hadn't been able to make up my mind for which candidate I should vote until the final moment. After a long wavering between the two, I finally decided on one candidate and voted for him.

Late in the election day, NHK announced the official results. To my disappointment, the candidate I had voted for couldn't win a seat. In addition to that, the other candidate I hadn't voted for also lost.

After all, my voice had no way to reach the Prefectural Assembly regardless of for which candidate I voted.
